How to Identify High-Quality Formwork Plywood?

The core material is the "heart" of your concrete formwork plywood. It determines the weight, the load-bearing strength, and most importantly, the number of times you can reuse the panels.

 

1.Poplar Core (Economical & Lightweight)

Low-rise residential buildings or projects with a limited budget.

6–10 times (with high-quality glue).

Poplar is a soft wood, making the panels lighter and easier for workers to handle. However, it is less dense than hardwood.

2. Eucalyptus/Combi Core (The Balanced Choice)

Medium-to-high-rise commercial buildings and infrastructure.

12–18 times.

Eucalyptus is a hardwood, offering much higher density and strength than poplar. "Combi" cores mix poplar and eucalyptus to balance weight and durability.

3. Birch Core (The Premium Standard)

Birch has the highest density and smallest grain, offering incredible screw-holding strength and zero warping under extreme pressure.
